Skull Appreciation Day with Smeared and Smudged! Members blog hop!

Good morning my artsy friends, I have a few items to share with you today in recognition of Skull Day!

The members of Smeared and Smudged has worked very hard to bring you some awesome Skully goodness. It’s that time again for our monthly blog hop, and yes you guessed it, it is all about skulls! I have a blog roll for you on my side bar. You should have come here from Lisa.

For my first project I beaded a necklace. Most of the bead I got at Micheal’s craft store. The cool looking Skull glass bead I ordered from “Over Stock.com” (I have never ordered from there before, but I could not find skull beads in any store and was very surprised to find them there.) The “Evil Eye” glass beads are a purplish color and I got them at Micheal’s, same with the rose charm and pendent. For the earings I used bottle caps, colored my Sugar Skulls, from Smeared Ink, then added “Crystal Effects” to it.

For my tag I used “Plaque-As Death” I colored it w/ greys and a red Copic. for the bottle cap I used “Dance-As Death” both of these digi stamps are from Smeared Ink. The senitment reads “Death is not Forever” For the “Death is not” I printed it from my computer onto SU’s Velum. The metal “Forever” is from stash so is the black half pearls. The 2 red 3mm half pearls I received from “Pizzazz a Plenty” The 2 screws are brads and I got them from my Smeared and Smudge Secret Sister (I think they are really cool I have not ever seen any thing like that before.) I used Stickles in “Black Diamond.” The background paper is from Harley Davidson, I also used a silver metallic pen on the sides.

Thank you for visiting me and thank you for your comments. It is now time for you to go and visit the talented Steph!

One of a kind! “TIO117″

At “Dragons Dream Tag It On” is having a challenge “TIO117 “To Dye for”

“So dream me up a tag containing spray ink, die cut(s) and embossing – either heat or dry. Other than that, feel free to add anything  you like, and remember the main ingredient – at least one real stamp.”

I have use a “real” stamp for the BG it’s from Inkadinkado. I stamped it w/ Versamark then clear embossed it. The “One of a kind” and the “Limited Edition” stamp is from Stampin’ Up! Before I did any stamping, I painted the Tag with white Gesso, bc I wanted my clear embossed stamp to look white. (My tag is yellowish) I sprayed Dylusions ink spray in “Vibrant Turquoise” then for the bottom half I used Fireworks spray in “Lilac Posies” by TSUKINEKO. I put my digi stamp “Emo Alice” from The Stamping Boutique, down then I sprayed Perfect Pearls Mists in “Perfect Pearl” by Ranger, over the whole tag. The I put down the 2 SU stamps the 2 butterfly punch outs, and the red flower punch out all from SU. Rhinestone from stash. The clip was given to me by one of my girls that joined my monthly ATC swap at The Crafter’s Cafe’ (I colored my digi w/ Copics)

Thank you for stopping by today, and if you would like to sign up to be a follower my “Stalker” button is on the sidebar It’s on the very top, it’s an email sign up. Thank you in advanced for becoming a follower.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and great weekend!

HDH135 “Pass the distressing, please.”

Good morning happy crafters, I have a Birthday card to share with you today. I made this for: Haunted Design House challenge blog: Challenge HDH135 “Pass the distressing please.”

I have distressed all 4 edges of the embossed bricks with my distressing tool, then used distress inks. I used Dew Drops “Moonbeam” and smudged over the bricks EF BG. The PP is from DCWV’s “Halloween/Fall” paper pack. Red CS from SU. I used the distressing tool on the card and the PP. And of course the distress inks. The black brads I received from Black Dragon.  I have had the cake stamp and the HB stamp for a while and IDK what company it’s from? (Sorry) I used Prismacolor pencils to color the girl’s bricks, and cake (that I popped up) then Copics for everything else. The butterfly and crown are stickers. I have used Tracey’s from The Stamping Boutique’s new digi stamp called “Goth Girl on wall” follow link to get yours.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

House of Gilli: Challenge “Use die-cuts or punches” (I used a die-cut on my image)

Challenge #3 at Poisoned Peas Please! “Wicked Step-mother” with a Selkie

Good morning fellow Alternative crafters, I would like to share with you a covered Tim Holtz 6×6 grunge board. This is my DT piece for Poisoned Peas Please challenge this month’s title is “Wicked Step-Mother” show us your interpretation of a Wicked Woman! Our Sponsor this month is Delicious Doodles, Teri (owner) has provided the DTs with some of her Fabulous digis to work with. I have used “Scottish Selkie”  for my project today:

I have colored my images w/ Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. The skull is from Smeared Ink. After I colored it I added “Crystal Effects” to it. The white is a white Recollections pen. The ribbon is from SU. I received the hat pin from Georgette she plays in the ATC swap that I host on The Crafter’s Cafe’ (follow the link to check it out.) I used Cuttlebug’s EF “Bubbles” at the back ground for my main image. Because according to legend “The exact nature of their undersea world is uncertain, though some believe it to be encased in giant air bubbles.”  A Selkie is not a Mermaid, however they are another form of a “Siren.” Siereines are not mermaids.

I hope you like my project today.

Smudgy Antics challenge: “Color combo”

Hi guys, I made this for the Smudgy Antics challenge blog: Challenge “Color combo”

The challenge theme this week is a COLOR Challenge.
You MUST use at least three of the colors in the swatch below:

My personal favorite colors together!
You may use additional colors in your piece as well, but it must be evident that you have used three colors from the swatch above.  Remember to use a stamped image (digi or rubber) and be sure to read and follow the challenge rules posted on the left side bar to qualify for the random prize drawing and the coveted “Top Three” badge. I did BTW get the “Top 3″ badge for the last weeks challenge “Masquerade.”
The digi on the front is from Smeared Ink “Stitchy Doll # 2″ (Follow the link to get yours.) The sentiment and pacifier charm is from MFP “Oh Boy it’s a Girl” set. I embossed the cheetah print to match the cheetah print DP. I guess I’m in a cheetah mood.  I colored Stitchy with Prismacolor pencils and my favorite blender -baby oil- then I added light blue “Jeweled brads” from SU.
Thank you for taking the time to look and comment! Have a Blessed day!
Peace,
KristyLee

CONFESSIONS SMEARED IN INK!

It’s that time again! Time for the Smeared and Smudged member’s blog hop.

The theme is CONFESSIONS SMEARED IN INK! With this month’s Mother’s Day celebration we thought it would be fun to have a few confessions from our members….Use your art to show us something you have never told your Mom about yourself…or about something you have done. Step outside your comfort zones – the smudgier the better!!!

Okay all here is my confession:

Since I was about 13, I have wanted to be a witch, a real witch. I wanted to be able to fly and cast spells. I even tried to do spells when I was younger. It didn’t work because I understand now, I was doing it all wrong. I use to watch the “Bewitched” TV show and wanted to wiggle my nose and have my room all clean without lifting a finger he he.

My mom told me that there is not such thing as a good witch that all witches are bad. I didn’t believe her then, and now I know the difference. For example the Pentagram if the point is facing up = Good. If the point is down= Bad/ Dark craft

Here is a closer view of my art piece for today. I painted with acrylic craft paint on an 8×10 piece of canvas first, then added my elements. The “Witch” is from Ike’s Art (Follow the link to get yours She is having a SALE)  The “Alter Candles” are from Smeared Ink. (Follow the link to get yours) The other items I retrieved from the web.

I colored my digi stamps with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil (as a blender.) The reason for the different colors of candles is:

White candle= Clarity, Purification, Protection (7th Chakra)

Green candle= Healing, Prosperity, New Beginning, Growth (4th Chakra)

Blue candle= Meditation, Tranquility, Peace (5th Chakra)

Lavender candle= Intuition, Dreams (7th Chakra)

Close up view of Ike’s Art “Witch” digi (Symbolizing me.)

My mom does not know how many stones and crystals I have either. And she does not know that I have Witchy books.

This one here “The Way of the Green Witch” is a pretty good book IMO. The way of the witch is Harm None!

The Chakra Bible is a really good book IMO. I have have just rented from the Library two other “Esprit” type books. That I am going through now. One of them I am finding very intriguing.

So that is my confession when other girls wanted to be Ballerinas and ware tutus, I wanted to fly on a broom. I even tried to fly on our house broom when I was younger. With that said I have a confession to make about my confession, when I was a child my mom did put me in Tap, Dance, Ballet, and Gymnastics. I was very flexible and I did do great in class my favorite was Gymnastics, and the balance beam. My teacher would use me as a “show and tell” doll, meaning she would be like “Okay Kristy do a back-bend, now class this is how it looks.” (I am using back-bend as an analogy) It didn’t matter what it was she was always calling on me to show the class what she was talking about.

Well I hope you like my confessions for today, and that it wasn’t too long and boring for you! Thank you for stopping by and Thank you for your comments. If you have questions for me I do not mind a bit, ask away. If you want to email me your questions on the side that is fine too. There is nothing you can ask me that I would get offended over.

It is time for you to visit Lady Brayton!

There is a blog roll at the top of this post and also on my sidebar if you get lost on your path!

I would also like to enter my painted/altered canvas piece into the following challenges:

Zombieland! Oh the Horror!

Hi all, I have a card I made for Smeared and Smudges’ Oh the Horror challenge.  May’s challenge features the movie “Zombieland.” So this is my interpretation of the movie.

I also have another challenge in mind when making this card, it’s called “The Game” challenge blog. It is a brand new challenge started by Susan Guzy. This is their first challenge. Challenge #1 Tic Tac Toe” you have to choose items 3 in a row. I have chosen 1. Staples 2. More then one image 3. Stickles or glitter.  You should go and check out the beautiful work the DTs have done!

The skull and the criss cross thing is toilet paper. Terra from Smeared and Smudged did a toilet paper tutorial. It’s where you add toilet paper and water to rubber stamps. Both of those stamps came from the “Quoth the Raven” rubber set at Smeared Ink. I also used “Shy Zombie” and “Pin up Zombie” from Smeared Ink.

For my back ground I used a crackle stamp from “Inkadinkado,” Hand Prints from “Hero Arts,” and a brain stamp from “Leavenworth.”

I used “Rubz” to add color to my toilet paper stamps. Colored the Zombie girls with Prismacolor pencils, then I used Tim Holtz’ gold spray and spritzed it. I stapled down the gold rick rack trim.

I would also like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show: Challenge “Anything Goes”

Forever Night Challenges: Challenge #36 “Anything Goes (Dark)”

One Stitch at a Time Challenge Blog: Challenge #113 “Use your Favorites”

Craft Your Passion Challenges: Challenge #110 Color combo shades of green and purple” (Zombies are green and I uses shades of purples on their clothes)
