USE TEXTURE IN YOUR PROJECT WITH SMUDGY ANTICS!

Good morning friends, this is the 2nd week of our 2 week challenge at Smudgy Antics! The theme this time around is TEXTURE! That’s right any thing with texture! Although the focus of the challenge is to use TEXTURE, you must still use a stamped image real or digi. Here is my texture challenge DT project:

For some reason I can hardly ever pick up glitter in my photos.  I wanted to show you here that I put “Velvet Snow Ice” glitter on her wings from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I have used a Smeared Ink’s digi stamp from the Septem Liberalis digi set. (Follow the link to see them all.) I colored my image with Copics.

To create my background I used Liquitex Glass Beads, scoped it into another container and added to different colors of Liquitex acrylic colors. Mixed it up and w/ a paint brush painted it onto a 5×7 canvas. I then added netting, lace, and meshy looking trim. I stamped some Notes. I used metal stamp letters and on top of copper I banged out the word “Musica.” I added some sparkle, and I rubbed metallic silver and blue on different parts of the piece.

I colored the image with Copics. I added my favorite Velvet Glitter from “Sparkle N Sprinkle” (They have cool stuff there.)

RSD’s Airless Chambers June Freebie challenge

Hello friends, I am still here, IDK if you heard that Florida is having a Tornado watch and Thunderstorms but here it is, so far so good. But this is Florida, and it can change at the drop of a hat, as they say!

Over at Airless Chambers Rick posted a free digi and we are to make something with it, but it can not be square or have points. So here is my offering:

There he is! RSD’s freebie digi Voodoo Man. I used a pre-made circle card that I picked up at Micheal’s. I then used two different Spellbinders for the inner paper, which was hand made using the “Shaving Cream” technique. I used a Stampin’ Up! die cut called “Blossom Party” (Follow the link to see it) for the silver flowers. SU brad in the center. I made the Hat Pin! I just found some cool looking turquoise skulls. So of course had to play w/ them. I colored the image with Copics and added “Red Glitter Flocking” to the band on both of the hats and to the stick part the Voodoo Skully is holding. I picked that up on my Scrapbook Store Hop I did w/ my step-mom. Got is from Sparkle N Sprinkle (Follow the link they have really cool stuff.)

I have used Ike’s Art digi, it’s the lady one. On the lower left corner I used a digi from Delicious Doodles.

Here is my card w/o the staging. I colored all images w/ Copics. I followed the sketch challenge at Smeared and Smudged under the “Challenger.”  My BG paper is digi I printed it on photo paper, it’s from Susan’s Chaos. The stamp behind the 2 skeletons is from Unity.

You cant tell in the photo but the skull has been done w/ Pearl white thread, it really is gorgeous in RL!

I have use Delicious Doodles image “Beach Huts” this digi is even better looking colored up. (Follow the link to get yours.)

I added white Flocking, and that’s it on the image. I made a white Hat Pin, used white ribbon from stash, and a Stampin’ Up! embossing folder. To me this is kind of a CAS card which I normally don’t do. I like embellishments and of course color and wanted to add more but thought it would take away the beauty of this serene card.

May’s Design Team Throwdown!

May’s Design Team Throwdown for Smeared and Smudge!

The themes are chosen by who ever wins, and last month the winners were  Quoth the Raven blog DT.

So they have chosen the theme “Tooth and Claw” here is my project for this challenge:

I have used Smeared Ink’s Woman of Power digi called “Tiamat” (Follow the link to get yours.) She was colored w/ Copics. Hair and Dragon colored w/ Prismacolor pencils. The gold was colored with a gold pen. I then added Crystal Effects to all the gold coloring ie: arm band, nails, teeth, and top of the Dragons nose. I also out lined parts of the dragons head w/ the gold pen. I have used pop dots and popped her up.

For the senti, I used copper metal, and metal stamps. For the back ground I used molding paste and added 2 different types of seeds beads and some trinkets. I then painted it with black Gesso. I used “Rubz” for accent color. This was done on an 8×10 flat canvas.

WEEK 2 of Make Something Using Feathers, Fur, or a Combination of the Two.

 

Good morning Friends, I have a DT Tag to share with you. At Smudgy Antics there is one week left to play the “Use Feather Fur or both” I went with the Fur.

My background was made using three different rubber stamps from the “Urban Decay” set by Smeared Ink. If you would like to check out the Rubber Club click here! I then used Dyulsions spray inks. I used one of the digital stamps from Smeared Ink’s “Freaky Girl Digi Set” (Follow the link to see them all) I colored her w/ Copics, hair w/ Prismacolor pencils. On the tip of her tail I added white Flocking! The senti I printed from my label maker.

New Release rubber set for Smeared Ink from Rick St. Dennis!

The new release rubber stamp set from Smeared Ink, is called Morte and has been drawn by Rick St. Dennis. This is an exclusive only to Smeared Ink. So If you would like the rubber stamp set then you can go to the Rubber Club at Smeared and Smudged to sign up.

All of the DTs were given and image to work with to show for the New Release, this is what I created:

I used a wine bottle. I first made a vine w/ leaves out of Sclupy clay baked it then added the rest of my other clay pieces I made. I cracked the windows and popped up the skull.

That piece at the bottom is a dinosaur skull. I found them at Micheal’s.

I used molding paste to create the texture and hold my trinkets. Then painted it with black Gesso after drying, I used “Rubz” to add color to my trinkets. I colored my image w/ Copics.

RSD’s Singing Zombie challenge and a Domino!

Good afternoon friends,

Over at Airless Chambers blog, Rick St. Dennis is having a freebie challenge. Rick offered his singing Zombie digi for free, if you take you make something with it and enter it into the challenge. I made a B-day card as my offering.

This is the singing Zombie digi from RSD. I colored w/ Copics then distressed the edges.

I use a music embossing folder with a copper metal sheet. I then sprayed the embossed piece with a solution from “TEN seconds Studio“  Below is the stuff I used.

The solution Ages metals.

The gold Happy Birthday is a sticker given to me by a friend. The “From the undead” I used my label maker.  I ordered the brain stamp off line and cant remember from who?

Yesterday I was playing in my craft room and I made another Domino Pendent.

Have you all seen the stickers on cars that say “Salt Life” then it will have like a fish, or skull, or something? When I lived in VA Beach the stickers were everywhere. I moved to FL on the east coast near the beaches and I see the stickers on cars here too. Well I don’t go to the beach much but I do, do art much!!

So now the reason for the quick story:

For the domino I used a freebie from RSD. Colored it w/ Copics. I used Alcohol Inks for the back ground on the domino.  Now you see the “Art Life?” I made that senti w/ my label maker.

Hello friends, I would like to share with you a card I made for Simply Steampunk Challenges.   I am showing you “Mercius digi” and “Gwendolyn digi” (Follow the links to get yours.)

I colored my images with Copics. I used Recollections Botanical Steampunk DP. I added a small domino I picked up from the Dollar Tree. Drilled a hole in it added a jump ring and attached that key that I found on my Scrapbook Store Hop! Behind the couple is a Spider Web I cut out using Velum paper. I found that spider web die cut at an Expo. Gwendolyn is holding a clock face. I printed the senti then used a punch.
